He was elected 6times as MLA from Pulivendula and 4times as MP from Cuddapah.He was elected as CM of Andhra Pradesh in 2004 and was re-elected as CM in 2009.Finally the great personality left us on 2nd september 2009 in a chopper crash while flying in Bell company chopper from Hyderabad to Chittore to attend in a official program 'RACCHA BANDA' which is meant to directly interact with the public.
